Is In Stride Chiropractic the right fit for your animal?

We work best with owners who are invested, engaged, and ready to be an active part of their animal's care. Before you book your discovery call, here is an honest look at who we are built for.

You are probably a great fit if:

  • You treat your dog or horse like a member of the family and want them to receive the same level of thoughtful care you would want for yourself

  • You are looking for more than a quick fix and want to understand the root cause of what is going on with your animal

  • You are willing to do home exercises and supportive care between visits because you understand that recovery and performance do not just happen in the clinic

  • You want a practitioner who communicates openly, works with your veterinarian, and treats your input as valuable

  • Your animal competes, trains, or lives an active lifestyle and you want to keep them performing and feeling their best for as long as possible

We may not be the right fit if:

  • You are looking for the lowest cost option in the area

  • You want a quick fix

We say this not to be exclusive but to be honest. Dr. Katie gives every patient focused, personalized care. That level of attention works best when the owner is as invested in the outcome as she is.

How to get started

Here's what to expect should you like to get started with us at In Stride Chiropractic

Step 1: Book Your Discovery Call

Every new patient starts with a complimentary discovery call. This is a brief conversation to learn about your animal, answer your questions, and make sure we are the right fit before anything else happens. You can book your discovery call by texting us at 469-324-9844 or using our online scheduler

Step 2: Veterinary Authorization

Texas law requires a licensed veterinarian to authorize chiropractic care for animals before the first visit. Once you have booked your discovery call we will walk you through exactly what is needed and work directly with your vet's office to make the process as simple as possible. If you do not have a veterinarian or need help finding one who is familiar with chiropractic care, we maintain a list of chiropractic friendly veterinarians in the area.

Step 3: Your First Visit

Your first appointment is a full hour with your provider (Dr. Katie). She will complete a thorough postural and gait evaluation, a hands on orthopedic, neurological, and palpatory exam, and provide your animal's first treatment.

Before your visit is complete she will walk you through a custom care plan, home exercises, and everything you need to support your animal between visits. We also offer in house financing and package options to make ongoing care accessible for your family.

Understanding the Veterinary Authorization Requirement

We know the veterinary authorization requirement raises questions for some new clients. Here is everything you need to know about why it exists, how it works, and why we actually believe it makes your animal's care better.

Why is it required?

Under Texas Administrative Code, animal chiropractic care by a non-veterinarian requires authorization from a licensed veterinarian before treatment can begin. This is a Texas law, not a policy unique to In Stride Chiropractic.

What does the authorization involve?

Your veterinarian simply needs to provide a written authorization confirming that your animal is under their care and cleared for chiropractic treatment. In most cases this is a straightforward request that your vet's office can handle quickly.

What if my vet is not familiar with animal chiropractic?

This comes up more than you might expect and it is never a dealbreaker. Dr. Katie is happy to communicate directly with your veterinarian to explain what animal chiropractic involves, answer any questions they have, and help them feel confident authorizing care. Most veterinarians are supportive once they understand what the treatment involves.

What if I do not have a veterinarian?

We maintain a list of chiropractic friendly veterinarians in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who are familiar with and supportive of animal chiropractic care. If you need a recommendation we are happy to point you in the right direction.

Why we think it actually makes care better

The authorization requirement means that every animal we see has an active veterinary relationship. That gives Dr. Katie a fuller picture of your animal's health history before the first visit and creates a collaborative care dynamic that benefits your animal in the long run. We do not see it as a hurdle. We see it as the foundation of a truly integrative care model.

"Dr. Lackey Has Been So Good"

Dr. Lackey has been so good. We are driving from Farmersville about 40 miles to Carrollton.
She’s well worth the drive! She’s quick to respond if we have questions, and is so sweet and patient with my older pup.

"Chasing Balls And Bubbles Like A Puppy"

Our 11-year-old dog has hip dysplasia, and we were willing to try anything to keep her comfortable. That’s when we found Dr. Lackey. She is incredibly kind and gentle with Maggie, and thanks to her care, Maggie is running and jumping again—chasing balls and bubbles like a puppy.

She’s clearly in much less pain since starting treatment. If you’re looking for a great chiropractor, look no further than In Stride Chiropractic.

"Couldn't Be Happier With The Care"

We’ve been taking our dog Jack to In Stride and couldn’t be happier with the care he’s received. When we first started going, Jack was having pain just walking, but now he’s doing so much better — even asking to go on walks again! Dr. Lackey is amazing with him.

She takes her time, clearly loves dogs, and really knows her stuff. She’ll even get down on the floor with Jack to help him feel comfortable and relaxed during his session. She also gives us clear, simple exercises to do at home and uses a variety of innovative treatments in the office. We’re so grateful for the difference she’s made — highly recommend In Stride to anyone who loves their dog!
